New Problem with Takedown lever, it wont come out.

Postby Old Chorizo » Sun Dec 26, 2010 8:45 pm

My takedown lever will not come out. It only rotates to 4:30 or 5 o'clock and will not come out. It is brand new serial EAF4xxx.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get it out?

My EAF is the same, it takes a lot of force, but it will rotate the rest of the way.

Yeah - it sure does take a lot of force. I pushed as hard as I dared and got nothing. Finally used a little piece of plastic to get some leverage on it and pushed a bit harder and it moved and I was able to get it out.

This must be their answer to the takedown pin coming out during firing problem!

I also have one in the EAFXXX range and it was a little tough to get out. Guess that's better than having it fall out on the range. Few days later picked up an EAHXXX, but haven't field stripped it yet.

If you rotate the lever a little past 180 it will come out easy. Don't worry about scratching the slide it does touch it.

Initially same issue on pin removal: Correction: Rotate clockwise from 3pm to 9pm, then it will remove.

HOWEVER, when I broke it down and put it together, it was tough to have the slide advance forward. Someone suggested I have to have the tube foward all the way. Tried that and it seemed to work, unless other spirits were at work.
